Become an ABC Certified Professional Groomer at Animal Behavior College!
Animal Behavior College (ABC) is the nation’s leading vocational school specializing in animal career programs. Our Certified Groomer Program rewards animal enthusiasts with a creative and artistic profession that helps improve the well-being of pets. Enroll in our school and experience the unique training module that was created with the working individual in mind. Consisting of in-home study and hands-on training at a grooming shop in your area, our program allows you the opportunity to earn your certification around your current work or school schedule.
During the in-home portion of the program, students become knowledgeable in the skills and techniques necessary to launch a career in the grooming industry. Students are provided with informative Study Guides including information about canine and feline anatomy, grooming tools and their use, animal handling and safety, nail clipping, dental hygiene, bathing, brushing and drying techniques, clipper use and scissoring techniques, how to complete breed specific cuts and grooming cats. The curriculum also dedicates an entire section toward business building. This section provides insight on how to create and open a grooming business or acquire employment at a previously established grooming shop.
After successfully completing the in-home studies, students are paired with a professional groomer to obtain hands-on training in a grooming environment, working on actual dogs, allowing the student to put the education they received into practice. This provides students the opportunity to better master their grooming techniques and to gain real life experience. Once all requirements have been fulfilled for the Grooming Instruction Program, students will graduate with the title of ABC Certified Professional Groomer.
